Studentsí Year-End Evaluations

From Zee Ann Poerio, a fifth grade teacher at St. Louise de Marillac School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania:

ìI ask my students for their opinion on the activities and special projects that were assigned during the school year. They list the major projects, assignments, or novels that we studied as I read them aloud. I ask them if I should ëuse ití or ëlose ití for next year and what they liked or disliked about each project. This input helps me to evaluate projects from year to year and to modify and adjust my assignments for the following year. The students love this activity because they know that their opinion counts, and I love this activity because I get valuable feedback!î
